It is also called "The Anglo Saxon Period"
Saxon is the name of a Tribe of Germany.
England was under the occupation of Romans.
Saxon, Angels, Jutes kept occupied England from 450-1066.
Literature moves orally in this time.
English is basically a West Germanic Language.
